Three decades of quiet consequence.
A working record of directorships, advisory engagements, writings, and the institutions built along the way.
Elena Voss began her career in 1993 at N M Rothschild in London, spending eleven years across the firm's corporate finance and advisory practices in London, Paris, and Frankfurt. She left as a Managing Director in 2004 to join Ateliers Bréguet Holding, the family-controlled luxury manufacturing group, first as CFO and later as Deputy Chief Executive.
Under her operational tenure the group completed the acquisitions that established its present shape, refinanced twice through private placement, and — quietly — restructured its family governance around a constitution that has since been studied at INSEAD and the Kellogg Center for Family Enterprises. She stepped down from executive duties in 2018.
Since 2019 she has held a slate of independent directorships and advisory positions, primarily with family-controlled enterprises, sovereign investment offices, and one philanthropic endowment. Her current mandates are listed opposite. She writes for a small number of publications and speaks selectively.
Her first book, The Quiet Company (Princeton, 2021), examined the durability of century-scale European family firms. The Governance Premium followed in 2024. A third volume, on capital patience, is in preparation.
She is a Trustee of the Whitfield Foundation and sits on the advisory council of the Bretton Woods Committee. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and, since 2022, an Officer of the Order of the Dannebrog.
